The publisher recently sold the rights to the upcoming System Shock 3 back to OtherSide Entertainment. It’s currently unknown what will ultimately happen with Starbreeze. In addition, it appears that Starbreeze has been on shaky ground for years now, with numerous instances of ill-advised spending. Following the disastrous launch, reports came out about the rocky development history of this game. It definitely seems that Overkill’s The Walking Dead has been troubled from the start. Starbreeze’s offices were later raided over insider trading suspicions. Not only did Starbreeze file for reconstruction, CEO Bo Andersson also stepped down. However, things only got worse from there. It was essentially dead on arrival, with low initial sales causing Starbreeze to reassess its costs. OVERKILL's The Walking Dead depicts the oppressive and cruel world from the series, where the living can be as dangerous as the undead, if not more. They will also be able to modify and upgrade your weapons so they fit their respective gameplay styles better. Also, scavenging and crafting systems are included, so players can get any tools or resources needed to survive. The game features a progression system that allows players to improve their skills, and the world will scale depending on the number of players and their level. Teamwork is a must in a place where every step could attract the attention of a horde of walkers. Each of the characters has their own story, along with a unique skill tree, role in the squad and gameplay style, but if they want to complete their objectives they will have to cooperate together. They will have to cooperate to survive in a once-rich city, now abandoned, crumbling and mostly occupied by the deadly undead. Based on the famous The Walking Dead TV and comic book series, the game features four characters, Aidan, Heather, Maya, and Grant.
